Reverend Dr. Freddie Lawton, Sr., Eulogist
Pastor Thomas Doctor, Sr., Officiating

William “Darnell” Doctor succumbed to a brief illness on November 24, 2021.  He was born in Wilmington, Delaware on September 8, 1964, to Ms. Christine Doctor Hamilton.  He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Viola Allen; his great grandmother, Florence Coker Doctor; and a nephew, Devon Watts.

Darnell and his mother relocated to South Carolina following his birth.  They subsequently moved to Brooklyn, NY.  Because of the great influence of his great grandmother, Florence Doctor, he was brought back to SC and reared by her, along with the help of his uncles: Rudolph Doctor, Shellie Doctor, and Thomas Doctor, Sr, and his aunt, Bernease Capers.

At an early age, he became a member of the Antioch Christian Church, Varnville, SC.  In spite of his physical setback, he would find a ride so that he could be in service every Sunday.  He befriended many and touched many lives as well.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother, Ms. Christine Hamilton of College Park, GA; (2) daughters: Shatandra Gavin of Tampa, Fla and Donna Greene of the home. (6) grandchildren: Alexis Terry, Ma’laya Terry, Jabari Terry, and Genesis Terry of the home, Trevel Gavin and Jazzlin Grayes of Tampa Fla; (1) great granddaughter, Jalayah Gavin of Tampa, Fla; (1) sister, Christina Hamilton of Charlotte, NC; (1) brother, Robert Hamilton, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY;  (2) uncles: Rudolph Jones (Barbara) and Matthew Allen (Barbara) all of Wilmington DE; (2) aunts: Rosella Taylor and Juanita Bradley (Julius) of Wilmington, DE; (2) great uncles: Pastor Thomas Doctor, Sr., (Dorothy) and James Capers all of Varnville, SC.  As he called her “my second mama”, Valerie Council (Willie) of Warner Robins, GA;  A host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and devoted friends.
