The Obituary
Bishop Ronald Macdonald Scott was born July 24, 1948, to the late James Robert Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Scott in Courtland, VA. Ronald attended the public schools in Southampton County, VA and subsequently joined and graduated from Job Corps. Later in life, Ronald relocated to Long Island, NY and surrounding areas where he resided for over 26 years. There he worked in the restaurant industry in a managerial capacity. Believing that there’s no place like home, he decided to move back to VA. Returning he worked in medical transportation for many years. In many ways, the move home to VA was a blessing. Ronald rededicated his life to the Lord under the guidance of Bishop James Moore of Tower of Deliverance, COGIC in Richmond, VA. Later he joined Agape Love Fellowship Destined for Glory Ministries under the leadership of the presiding prelate, Apostle Glyn Dora Lawson. Ronald became a licensed minister on September 19, 1999. He attended Maranatha Bible Institute where he studied Evangelism. He graduated in May of 2000 and in 2006 was ordained as an Elder. Subsequently he was bestowed the title and position as a consecrated Bishop in 2010. On April 30, 2016, Ronald was joined in holy matrimony to the former Maureen Moore at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Varnville, SC. Ronald and Maureen decided to remain in Varnville where he joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alexander Washington. Shortly thereafter, he was ordained there as a Minister and served as the Church Sexton. His dedication and commitment to the ministry at Mt. Sinai was unparalleled and his service led to the development of many treasured bonds. He had a special love for his church family and a special admiration for his Pastor. On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Ronald M. Scott went home to be with the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Milton and Douglas Scott; and sisters: Barbara Kennedy, Doris Gray, and Bobbie Story. Ronald’s memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Maureen Scott; sons: Tony Scott and Emanuel Scott, both of Richmond, VA; daughter, Dinikki Scott, Richmond, VA; step-son, Calvin Wilkins, Tampa, FL; step-daughter, De’ja Singleton, of the home; brothers: Isaac Parker, Williamsburg, VA and James R. Scott Jr., Capron, VA; sisters: Katie Scott and Phyllis Eaton, both of Courtland, VA; brother-in-law, Herbert L. Moore, Jr., Varnville SC; sisters-in-law: Mamie Moore of the home, Margarett Moore and Wendy Morrell, both of Varnville, SC and Maxine Moore, Beaufort, SC; a very dear friend, Marvis Marshall, Ashbern, VA; an honorary son, Brian C. Grayson, Varnville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
