Obituary

God looked around His garden and saw an empty place then 
He saw Vincent and blessed in His grace.

Vincent Benjamin Grant, (a.k.a. “VI, Man, and Big Baby”), departed this life on Saturday, April 15, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on March 05, 1982, to Lonnie Lee Grant, Jr., and the late Dorothy Mae Grant. 

Vincent was a loving father. He was outgoing, free-willed, unpredictable, and always greeted you with a smile. 

At an early age, he became a member of Antioch Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Varnville, South Carolina. Vincent was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Hampton, South Carolina. He earned his Commercial Driver’s License, an achievement of which he was immensely proud. Vincent was employed as a CDL Delivery Driver by Capital Materials.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Dorothy Mae Bryant Grant.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by a loving father, Deacon Lonnie L. Grant, Jr. and stepmother, Barbara M. Grant of Hampton, South Carolina; His grandmother, Mother Marie Wright of Hampton, South Carolina; A son, Vincent B. Grant, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina; (5) Sisters: Cynthia A. Shuler (Alan) of Varnville, South Carolina, Renee S. Anderson (Kevin) of Yemassee, South Carolina, Cynthia E. Grant of Hampton, South Carolina, Jennifer E. Grant and Nicole M. Grant, both of Varnville, South Carolina; (1) Step-sister, Kim Hodnett of Varnville, South Carolina; (3) Brothers: Terrance E. Grant (Vanessa), and Lonnie L. Grant, III (Lavern), all of Varnville, South Carolina and William J. Grant of Bamberg, South Carolina; (3) Step-brothers: Colvin McChuten of Bronx, New York, John McChuten of Colorado and Jamison Hodnett (Tasha) of Walterboro, South Carolina; Reared as bothers: Anthony Cummings and Antonio Cummings; (10) Aunts; (5) Uncles; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
