II Timothy 4:7-8On the morning of August 8, 2022, Carrie Eugenia B. Capers passed away at Orangeburg Medical Center, Orangeburg SC. She was born December 18, 1946, in Colleton County, SC. She was the eldest of six children born to the late Deacon Bert Buckner and Sis. Albertha Capers Buckner. Carrie was affectionately known to most as “Jane.” Carrie was educated in the Colleton County public School System, a graduate of Ruffin High School. She surrendered her life to the Lord October 1979 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She served the body of Christ as an active member of Toby United Methodist Church. She served on many auxiliaries, including President of the United Methodist women, Secretary, and serving as President of the Toby Gospel Choir. She was a very talented singer, who didn’t mind, lifting her voice in praise. Carrie was a very experienced seamstress for over 40 years. Her work experience includes Davan Manufacturing Company in Allendale, B&B Manufacturing in Varnville SC., and later years working as a PCA for Lowcountry Family Services. Carrie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Sons and Daughter of the Job. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Bro. Marion Capers Sr. The union was blessed with two sons.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Bro. Marion Capers, Sr., a brother, Dea. Anthony Buckner; and a sister, Bertha J. Davis.
She leaves to mourn her passing and share memories: Two sons: Marion L. (Monique) Capers, Walterboro SC., and Teacher Roger (Delores) Capers, Varnville, SC; Two sisters: Pastor Gloria B. Morris, and Mary Alice Buckner; and One brother, Cornelius (Nancy) Buckner, all Islandton SC. Brothers–in-law: Elder James Davis, Walterboro SC., and Herman (Patsy) Capers, Varnville SC. Sisters-in-law: Rebecca Capers of New York, Darlene Buckner of Islandton, SC., Lou Etta Mitchell and Irene Middleton, both of Tampa, FL.; An adopted brother, Reverend Willard Geddis (Mary) of Hampton; SC; (4) Grandsons: Phillip M. (Vicky) Capers, Columbia SC., Sherrick N. (Jessica) Capers, Columbia SC., Trey G. Capers, all of Charleston SC. and Roger A. Capers II, Varnville SC. (2) Great grands: Mia S. Capers and Maki Capers, both of Columbia SC; Caregivers: Ernestine Smoaks, Ethel Ruth, Tina, Liz , Michelle Mole; Gloria Morris, Alice Buckner, Glotavia Morris, Shane Buckner, Donell Brabham, and DaVita, Tucker Adult Daycare, Alon-jay Adult Daycare, Logistics Drivers; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
