Timothy Capers, 76, of Varnville, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Born in Hampton County, South Carolina on September 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Reverend Harry Capers Sr. and Lizzie Brown Capers. Timothy was raised in a loving home, where he was blessed to reside with his ten siblings.

He was a long-time member of Antioch Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Varnville, South Carolina.

His early years were spent in the public schools of Hampton County. After graduation, Timothy enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country honorably. After discharge, he earned a living in many different arenas; but he loved working with his hands. He found his passion in the construction industry. As a result of his endeavors, he became the owner and operator of Capers Construction, where he used his skills to improve the homes and businesses for many throughout Georgia, North and South Carolina until his health forced him to retire.

He was a devoted brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Harry, and Lizzie Capers, along with his six siblings: Harry, Joshua, Beaulah, Daniel, Matthew, and Mel.

Timothy is survived by Sara Carmichael; his daughter, Barbara Capers Campbell and husband, Melvin of Whiteville North Carolina; and  daughter, Yarnett Campbell of Varnville, South Carolina; a son, William Timothy Capers, Sr. and wife Rendessa of Williamsburg, Virginia; sons: Gregory Cohen, and William Blair Capers of Columbia, South Carolina, Tobby S. Capers of Greenville, South Carolina; son, William Timothy Prince of Estill, South Carolina; and son, Desmond Williams of Varnville, South Carolina; two brothers: James Capers of Varnville, South Carolina, and Elijah Capers and wife, Minnie of Hephzibah, Georgia; two sisters: Martha Capers and Elizabeth Smith, both of Varnville, South Carolina; seven stepchildren; twenty three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.
