The Obituary

Mr. Lloyd Pryor was born to the late Mr. Roosevelt and Mrs. Willie L. Pryor on December 24, 1943, in Hampton, S.C. He departed this life on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA. He attended and joined at an early age, the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Hampton S. C. Lloyd attended the former North District Training School of Hampton County, SC, and was employed by the late Deacon Lloyd Davis (Davis Construction Company) of Hampton, SC. He later moved to Milwaukee, Wis. where he was employed with General Split Corporation, a major leather producer.

In 1967, Lloyd met and married the love of his life, the former Ms. Patricia Dennis of Sanford, Florida.

In 1975, Lloyd and his wife moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he was gainfully employed by Prestolite Battery Company of East Point, Georgia. Prestolite, after many years, closed their doors. During this period, Lloyd was much like a father to his siblings, all of whom matriculated his home toward their successful career pursuits. Thereafter, Lloyd became an employee of the city of East Point, Georgia, working as a waterworks foreman. After twenty-plus years, Lloyd retired. He relocated to Evans, Georgia. With a desire to serve his family and community, Lloyd became a farmer selling produce at the Richmond County Fairground on Laney Walker Boulevard, Augusta, Ga and Belair Road in Evans, Ga.

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. Genesis 1:29 ESV

He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Pryor Sr; Mother, Willie L. Pryor; Brothers, Rosevelt Pryor Jr., Johnny Pryor, Lewis Calvin Pryor and Sister, Martha Pryor-Turman, a sister-in-law, Lillian Vinson.

He leaves to Cherish in loving memory his son, Andre Lachard Pryor (and his mother, Patricia) of Orlando, Fla; (4) Brothers: Jimmy Pryor, Larry Pryor (Sister-in-law, Margurita Young Pryor), Ray Pryor, and Gerald Pryor all of Atlanta, GA; and (1) Sister; Jeannette Rockett, (Brother-in-law Arthur Rockett) of Milwaukee, WI; (1) Uncle-in-law, General James of Stilson, GA; (1) Aunt-in-law, Mrs. Ceal Pryor of Mt. Clemens, MI. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins with additional family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
