The Obituary
Mr. Jimmie Lee Pryor, 74, formerly of Hampton, South Carolina stepped from time into eternity on July 7, 2023, at Harbor Grace of Atlanta, Georgia. He was born to the late Mr. Roosevelt and Mrs. Willie L. Pryor on August 4, 1948, in Hampton, S.C. He attended, and joined at an early age, the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Hampton S. C. Jimmie Lee attended the former Ben Hazel School of Hampton, SC. Thereafter, in 1967, he enlisted in the Job Corps. His career pursuit was to become a game warden. He later moved to Milwaukee, WI. where he met and married the late Ms. Lillian Vinson. During this time, he became employed with General Split Corporation, a major leather producer, for nine years. He was also employed by the Milwaukee Meat Packers for seven years. After leaving Milwaukee in 1984, Jimmie Lee returned to his native home of Hampton where he became gainfully employed by the former Cave Funeral Service of Allendale, South Carolina, Charles Boyles Realty of Hampton, SC, Automotive Mechanic Service in Hampton, SC as well as miscellaneous construction jobs. In 1988, Jimmie Lee relocated to Atlanta, GA where he, for many years, worked for and retired from Payne & Stone Grading & Pipe, Inc. of Atlanta. Upon retirement, Jimmie Lee joined B P Infrastructure Services, a family owned business where he installed storm water systems. He also met his significant other of thirty-five years, Monica Battle. He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Pryor Sr; His mother, Willie L. Pryor; Brothers: Rosevelt Pryor, Jr., Johnny Pryor, Lewis Calvin Pryor, and Lloyd Pryor; a sister, Martha Pryor-Turman. He leaves to cherish in loving memory his significant other, Monica Battle of Atlanta, GA; His daughters: Felicite Pryor, Jenise Pryor, Kizzie Pryor and Jimmie Lee Pryor, Jr., all of Milwaukee, WI; Gelisa Battle, Lawanda Pryor, and Barbara Lee Pryor, all of Atlanta, Ga.;(15)Grandchildren; (3) Brothers: Larry Pryor (Sister-in-law, Margurita Young Pryor), Ray Pryor, and Gerald Pryor all of Atlanta, GA; and (1) Sister; Jeannette Rockett, (Brother-in-law Arthur Rockett) of Milwaukee, WI; (1) Uncle-in-law, General James of Stilson, GA; (1) Aunt-in-law, Mrs. Ceal Pryor of Mt. Clemens, MI. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins with additional family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
