Reflection of Life

Mrs. Corine Capers was born October 13, 1937, to the late Mr. Brinkley Dobson and Mrs. Bethel Glover Dobson of Hampton, South Carolina. She is one of ten children.

Corine was called from labor to reward on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Emory Long Term Acute Care Hospital, Decatur, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.

Corine graduated in 1958 from the former North District Training School, Varnville South Carolina. In 1967, she was certified as a nursing aide with Allendale – Hampton STE Training School. This enabled her to be a great caregiver to countless family members and friends.

She was employed as a Seamstress in the fabric industry; but her services were opened to all of the Hampton County Community. Corine confessed Christ at an early age as a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina where she served faithfully.

On May 22, 1965, Corine was united in marriage to Earl Capers. And to this union, four children were born.

Corine loved interacting with family and friends. She had many hobbies but her most favorite was watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Preceding her in death was Corine’s beloved husband of 56 years, Earl Capers. She was also preceded in death by nine siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four loving children: Mr. Timothy Capers of Huntsville, Alabama, Ms. Phyllis Capers of Columbia, South Carolina, Mrs. Dena Smith (Wilbert) of Bowie Maryland and Mrs. Linda Evans (Larry) of Snellville, Georgia. Eight grandchildren; Eight Great Grandchildren; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
