The Obituary

Ida Mae Haynes was born on March 6, 1945 to the late Dodge Morris and Mary Cochran.  She was summoned by death from earthly toils on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at John Edward Harter Nursing Center, Fairfax, South Carolina. 

She received her education in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina.  At an early age, she became a baptized member of Antioch Christian Church, Varnville, South Carolina. 

Ida Mae Haynes was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Eddie Nathan Haynes; her daughter, Etta Mae Fennell; and a son, William Haynes, all of Varnville, South Carolina. 

She leaves to cherish fond memories four daughters: Cora Lin Green (Elder Bernard), Dana Vaughn (Derwent) of Varnville, South Carolina, Mary Louise Gadson (Jeff) of Ridgeland, South Carolina, and Janice Haynes Williams of Hampton, South Carolina; Three sons: Steve Haynes and Antwana Haynes, both of Hampton, South Carolina and Lewis Haynes of Beaufort, South Carolina; One sister, Gloria Drain of Smoaks, South Carolina; Three sisters-in-law: Ethel Priester, Nerva Edwards, and Debra Grant, all of Varnville, South Carolina; A host of special grandchildren; great grandchildren, Other relatives and friends. 

“Ida” was loved throughout the community and will be truly missed.
