Ray Charles Pryor succumbed to the call of his Maker on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Hampton County, South Carolina, Ray was the son of the late Mr. Roosevelt Pryor and Mrs. Willie Lessie Walker Pryor.
 
He Join Bethlehem Baptist Missionary Church at 10 years old and was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School located in Varnville, South Carolina. Upon relocating to Atlanta, Ray joined the Army National Grard and worked in the QuarterMaster’s position at the Armory in Augusta Georgia. Simultaneously Ray became employed as a construction worker with Michael Woods Construction for many years.

He also became employed by Grady Health Care Center where he worked in Maintenance as well as custodial worker. In 2009, Ray was instrumental in starting and running the Family’s Construction businesses “ Pryor Construction & BP Infrastructure Services” for 17 years. Ray was known for loving and adopting children, helping out families, and cooking.
 
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Pryor Sr; Mother, Willie L. Pryor; Brothers, Rosevelt Pryor Jr., Johnny Pryor, and Lewis Calvin Pryor; Lloyd Pryor and Jimmy Pryor. His sister, Martha Pryor-Turman; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Vinson.
 
To cherish fond memories are two loving daughters: Natasa Pryor, and Jykia Walker, two  devoted brothers, Larry Pryor (Sister-in-law, Margurita Young Pryor), and Gerald Pryor all of Atlanta, GA; (1) Sister; Jeannette Rockett, (Brother-in-law Arthur Rockett) of Milwaukee, WI; (1) Uncle-in-law, General James of Stilson, GA; (1) Aunt-in-law, Mrs. Ceal Pryor of Mt. Clemens, MI. (1) God Daughter, Aacourie Kelly of Hampton, SC. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins with additional family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
