Obituary

Mr. C.W. Capers was born December 20,1952 in Early Branch, South Carolina to the late Willie Rufus Capers, Sr., and Margaret Terry Capers. He succumbed to sleep on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

CW attended public school in Hampton County, South Carolina. He later joined and became a member of Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church of Varnville, South Carolina. He was gainfully employed as a Millwright at Elliott Sawmill in Estill, South Carolina for decades before retiring.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife Ada Mae Smith Capers to whom he was united in marriage in 1973; One sister, Louise Reid; Two brothers: Rufus Capers Sr. and Frederick Capers; A nephew, Rufus Chief Capers; A brother-in law, Theodore Major

Mourning his passing, and carrying his legacy are two daughters: LaShandra Capers, and Tanisha Capers, both of Varnville South Carolina; Four grandchildren: Shawneyah, Nasheyah, Cayvien, and Jhamir; His sisters: Willa Mae(Vander) Williams of Washington, DC, Margarette(Willie) Strobhart of Varnville, South Carolina, Carrie Major of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Iva(Tony) Moultrie of North Carolina; His brothers Melvin Capers, Irvin(Velma) Capers, Derrick(Lorettta) Capers , all of Early Branch, South Carolina; His sister-in-law, Delores Capers of Varnville, South Carolina; His brothers- in law: Mark(Valerie) Smith of Columbia, South Carolina, Tommy Smith Jr., and Robert Smith, both of Varnville, South Carolina; His sisters in law: Mae Frances Smith, and Linda (Donnell) Collins, both of Varnville, South Carolina; His goddaughter, Shadiamond Capers; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends.
