The ObituaryHe that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 Jonathan Green, 69, entered into eternal rest on August 20, 2024. He was the son of the late Bishop Woodrow and Minnie Lee Thompson Green Sr. He was born in Varnville, SC, on March 15, 1955. As a young boy, he was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, SC, and was a member of Bethel Holiness Church. During that time, he learned the trade of brick masonry. In 1973, he moved to Newark, NJ, to pursue his career in masonry, where he met and was joined in holy matrimony to the late Charlene Green on July 19, 1982. Together they raised four children. Jonathan later joined the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers in 1987 (Local 4 of Newark, NJ). In 1988, he gave his life to Christ and joined None Other But The House Of God under the leadership of the late Pastor Beatrice Davis, where he was ordained as Elder Green. Jonathan was a jack-of-all-trades and a one-of-a-kind brick mason, known for his beautiful work throughout the state of NJ and his marvelous acts. He was a living testimony of the saying, "Love is what Love does." He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and much more. If perfection existed, it would be him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bishop Woodrow, Sr. And Mrs. Minnie Lee Thompson Green and Step Mother Martha Willis Green ; his wife, Charlene Green; his daughter, Sandra Gentry; his greatgranddaughter, Amani Thomas; and his brothers Norris Green, and Willie James Green.
