Mrs. Rebecca Jane Deloach Ready was born on November 18, 1934, in Hampton County, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. Tobe Deloach and Mrs. Minnie Lou Mungin Deloach.  Rebecca was one of five siblings born to this union:  Bernice Singleton, Charlotte Garvin, Viola Deloach and one brother, Jack Deloach.  On Friday, May 2, 2025, Mrs. Rebecca Jane Ready was called home to be with the Lord.

At a young age, Rebecca surrendered her life to Christ and joined Second Thankful Missionary Baptist Church of Pineland, South Carolina, a church founded by her grandfather, Tobe Deloach, Sr. She served the body of Christ as a church usher and Deaconess at Padgett Branch Baptist Church, the congregation of her late husband. Civic organizations in which she was affiliated with were: the Order of Eastern Star and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

In 1950, she was united in marriage to Mr. Wesley Ready, of Gillisonville, South Carolina.  Four children were born to this union: Sylvester Ready and Sheila Ready, both of Pineland, South Carolina, Bernard Ready and. Linda Anderson, both of whom preceded her in death.

In 1969, she received her high school diploma.  It was through this foundation of learning that she became employed in a number of jobs in medical service, one of which was a Clinical Nurse Assistant at Ridgeland Nursing Home in Ridgeland, South Carolina.   She was also a hair stylist as well as a seamstress at Garland Pillow Supply in Beaufort, South Carolina.  But her greatest accolade was being a mother and grandmother!
To cherish fond and loving memories are here children: a son, Mr. Sylvester (Joann) Ready; and a daughter, Sheila Ready, all of Pineland, South Carolina; a son-in-law, Rodney Anderson of Savannah, Georgia; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends which include Mrs. Jane Cohen, a best friend and cousin.
