Ms. Gereacher Outing, following an extended illness, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Hampton Regional Hospital, Varnville, South Carolina. She was born on June 20, 1941, Varnville, Hampton County, South Carolina. Gereacher was the daughter of the late Mr. Sidney Lingard and Mrs. Ethel Mae Priester Lingard. At an early age, she joined the congregation of Antioch Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Varnville, South Carolina. She served faithfully until her health declined. Gereacher was educated in the public schools of Hampton County and had been previously employed for many years at Estill Manufacturing Company, Estill, South Carolina. She loved God, her family and sitting in the yard enjoying the sunshine. Gereacher was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Outing, Sr; One daughter, Lumasher Outing; Two sisters: Girlie Hudson and Albertha Lingard Brown; Five brothers: Henry Lingard Sr., Richard Lingard, Franklin Lingard, David Cochran, and Andrew Lingard. She leaves to cherish many wonderful memories of her life to her children. Two sons: Terry (Marcella) Lingard of Beaufort, SC, and John (Ruth) Outing of Hilton Head Island; A nephew reared in the home as a son, Henry (Deloris) Lingard of Tennessee. Two daughters: Blondell (Nolan) White and Diane Bowers, all of Varnville, SC; A niece reared in the home, Sharonda (John) Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC; Two sisters: Maggie Robinson of Varnville, SC and Lennis Grant of Brooklyn, New York; Four sisters-in-law: Dora Lingard and Iola Lingard, both of Varnville, SC, Brenda Outing and Georgia Mae Phoenix of Allendale, SC; One brother-in-law,: Willie James Outing of Allendale, SC; One aunt, Lizzie Young of Barnwell, SC; Twenty-Two (22) Grandchildren: Ken Green, Mal Lingard, Maurice Lingard, Jessica Lingard, Jordan Berran, Laron Edwards, Henry Markel Lingard, Amorde Joyner, Courtney Outing, Demetrius Outing, John E Outing III, Jonnesha Outing, Concetta Outing, India Outing, Kedrick (Jocelyn) White, Xaiber White, Fantasia Outing (Briana Thomas), Jerell Bowers (Jasmine), Jontavia Harley, Jontravian Harley, Laquisea Outing and Sha’Mya Jenkins. Eleven (11) Great-Grandchildren: She also leaves fond memories to be cherished by her nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
