Celebrating the Life & Legacy
Ruthie Mae Hill was born in Hampton County, South Carolina on March 17, 1955, to the late Rufus Busby, Sr., and Lula Mae Anders Busby. She was the granddaughter of the late Wade and Mattie Jenkins Busby.

At an Early age, Ruthie joined Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, under the pastorate and leadership of the late Benjamin “Ben” Burison, Sr., Pastor Emeritus. She was a faithful choir member. Later in life, she joined Beautiful Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the watch care and leadership of her husband, Pastor Gilbert Hill.

Ruthie made her transition to be with the Lord on Monday, April 22, 2024 at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina surrounded by her loving family.

Ruthie leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving, faithful, and devoted husband, Pastor Gilbert Hill, of Varnville, South Carolina; two sons, Chris and Victor; daughter, Charmaine Busby; two sisters, Rose (Daniel) Bryant, of Lena, South Carolina and Rena Mae Busby; five sisters-in-law, Barbara Herdford, Sandra Walker, and Wilma Hill, all of Statesboro, Georgia, Lillian Busby, of Cummings, South Carolina and Janell Busby, of Walterboro, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends.
