Her LegacyMother Ella Bessie Collins was born on September 19, 1931 in Grovetown, Georgia to the late Roger, Sr. and Bessie Harris. She was called from labor to reward Friday, December 29, 2023 at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, South Carolina. She received her education at the former North District Training School located in Varnville, South Carolina. Mother Ella B. Collins, in her younger years, worked several jobs. But ultimately, she retired from the Hampton County Council on Aging as a Senior Aide. She was preceded in death by her late husband John Collins Sr.; her parents, Roger Sr. and Bessie Harris; a brother, Roger Harris Jr.; a sister, Viola Harris; (2) sons: Clarence Harris, Sr. and John C. Collins, Jr.; (2) grandsons; and (1) granddaughter. The legacy she leaves will continue to live on with our family as we celebrate her memories. These include (4) sons: Gus Harris of Manhattan, New York, Douglas Collins, Sr. (Demetria) of Augusta, Georgia, Ricky Collins and James Collins both of Varnville, South Carolina. She also has an adopted son, Earl Robinson, III (Estgenet) of Kuwait; (5) daughters: Shirlean Anderson, Juanita Boles, and Cynthia Collins, all of Varnville, South Carolina, Mary Ferrell of Tillman, South Carolina, and a loving daughter and caretaker, Viola Collins along with a special and caring granddaughter, Tyshana Leverette of the home; (1) sister, Juanita Hicks of Varnville, South Carolina; (2) Sisters-in law: Dorothy Harris and Margaret Collins, both of Varnville, South Carolina; A devoted friend (loved like a son), Eugene Miller of Ridgeland, South Carolina. She also leaves behind thirty-eight (38) grandchildren; Eighty (80) great grandchildren; and Seventeen (17) great great grandchildren; A host of loving friends.
