Mrs. Ada Mae Capers was born September 3, 1957, in Varnville, SC to the late Tommy Smith and Maggie Jenkins Smith. She succumbed to the call of her Maker on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

Ada attended public school in Varnville, SC. She was baptized at an early age becoming a member of Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church of Varnville, SC. She served the body of Christ as a member of the usher board for many years.

Ada was gainfully employed as a seamstress at Moknit Manufacturing for many years before becoming a dietary aide for the former Hampton County School District One. She also worked at Pruitt Health in Estill, SC. 

She was united in marriage to C.W. Capers in 1973. 

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was one brother, Paul Eric Smith; and two sisters: Rosa Marie Campbell, and little Miss Margaret Smith; two brothers-in laws:  Rufus Capers, and Fredrick Capers; one sister-in-law, Tina Capers; four uncles: Marion Jenkins, Larry Jenkins, Willie Jenkins, and Louis(Sack) Jenkins.; one aunt, Emilie (Samuel) Kelly. 

Mourning her passing, and carrying her legacy are two daughters: LaShandra (Mandrell) Capers, and Tanisha Capers, both of Varnville SC; five grandchildren: Shawneyah, Nasheyah, Cayvien, Jhamir, and Jaide; two sisters: Mae Francis Smith, and Linda (Donnell) Collins both of Varnville, SC.; three brothers: Mark (Valerie) Smith of Columbia, SC, Tommy Smith, Jr., and Robert Smith, both of Varnville, SC; two special aunts: Ethel (Arthur Lee) Ruth, and Sally (Leon) Allen, both of Varnville, SC; four uncles: Don (Parthenia) Jenkins, Joseph (Beverly) Jenkins, Harold (Betty) Jenkins, and James (Marie) Jenkins; six sisters-in-law: Louis Reid, Willa Mae (Vander) Williams of Washington, DC, Margarette(Willie) Strobhart of Varnville, SC, Delores Capers of Varnville, SC, Carrie (Theodore) Major and Iva (Tony) Moultrie of Kissimmee, Fl; three brothers-in-laws:  Melvin (Mavis) Capers, Irvin (Velma) Capers, Derrick (Lorettta) Capers of Early Branch, SC; a goddaughter, Shadiamond Capers; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends.
