On Tuesday morning, August 2, 2022, our beloved Lawrence Minus, Jr. transitioned from earthly toils into eternity.  Born December 29, 1952, he was the son of the late Lawrence Minus, Sr. and Verdell Raysor.  Lawrence was reared and loved as a son by the late Henry Clay Raysor.

As a young man, Lawrence became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina. Lawrence relocated to New York.  Understanding the value of an education, he applied himself and became a graduate of Forest Hills High School, Jamaica, New York.  Upon graduation, Lawrence entered the work force becoming employed by Branker Brothers, where he worked for many years as a mechanic.  Always adventurous, Lawrence moved to Belle Glade, Florida and subsequently returned to Blackville, South Carolina.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his step father; One sister, Lynette Carrigan; One brother, James Lawrence Minus; and two brothers-in-law: James Washington and Terrence Walker.

To mourn his home going are his children: Deshand Minus of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Tavonne Minus of Atlanta,  Georgia, Larisha Minus of West Palm Beach, Florida, Santonio Minus of Belle Glade, Florida, and Sabrina McFarland of South Bay, Florida;  His siblings: Willie Minus of Augusta, Georgia; Francia (Michael) Montague of West Columbia, South Carolina, Bernice Minus of West Palm Beach, Florida, Lang Minus of West Palm Beach, Florida, Betty (James) Washington of West Columbia, South Carolina, Gloria Raysor of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Shirley (Terrence) Taylor-Walker of Amityville, New York; A special cousin, Isreal (Mona) Harley of Beach Island, South Carolina; Forty grands; Twenty two great grands; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
