Mrs. Rumell D. Johnson, affectionately known as “Bud”, lived seventy-three (73) years, eleven (11) months, and twenty-four (24) days.  She was born in Miley Community of Hampton, South Carolina to the late Mr. Williams Henry Davis and Mrs. Janie Thompson Davis.  Mrs. Johnson was called from labor to reward at her residence on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 while under the care of AGAPE Hospice.

Seeking divine guidance, she joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in Cummings, South Carolina.  Early in life, she was employed as a domestic worker.  Later in life, she enjoyed working with home health.  Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, and gardening.

Preceding her in death was:  Her daughter, Mrs. Willa Mae Davis; Siblings: Mrs. Larcenia Capers, Mrs. Mary L. Horton, Mrs. Alfredia Jones, Mrs. Betty Davis, and Mr. Donnell Young; One granddaughter, Miss Aretha Davis.

She is forever loved by her husband, Mr. Frankie L. Johnson, Varnville, South Carolina; (6) Children: Mrs. Margaret (Mr. Leroy) Williams, Deacon Rozzer L. (Mrs. Sherry) Davis and Mrs. Albertha (Mr. Kenneth) Greene, all of Cummings, South Carolina, Mr. Kenneth L. Davis, Varnville, South Carolina, Mr. David Davis and Mr. Frank Johnson both of the home; (22) Grandchildren, two of whom were reared in the home: Mrs. Shakeen Davis and Mr. Travis Davis; (32) Great-grandchildren; (6) Aunts: Mrs. Eliza Thompson, Cummings, South Carolina, Mrs. Florrie Thompson, Varnville, South Carolina, Mrs. Margaret (Mr. Adam) Major, Varnville, South Carolina, Mrs. Claudia Mae Green and Mrs. Gloria Joyner, both of Cummings, South Carolina and Ms. Carrie Priester of Varnville, South Carolina; Her father-in-law, Deacon Andrew Johnson, Cummings, South Carolina; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Mr. Leon Capers, Hinesville, Georgia, Mr. Rodney Jones, New York, Mr. Dan Horton, Newark, New Jersey, Pastor Robert (Mrs. Reatha Mae) Johnson, Varnville, South Carolina, Mr. Chappell (Mrs. Costa Lee) Johnson, Yemassee, South Carolina, Mr. Thomas Priester, Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Cedric (Mrs. Monica) Johnson, Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Diane Brooker, Varnville, South Carolina, Mrs. Elizabeth (Mr. Leon) Walker and Mrs. Carolyn Johnson, all of Cummings, South Carolina, Mrs. Victoria (Mr. Anthony) Wright, Huger, South Carolina, and Mrs. Brenda Bryson, Newark, New Jersey; Devoted friends, Mr. Jimmie and Mrs. Celie Gibson, Cummings, South Carolina; A special friend, Ms. Delphine Johnson, Varnville, South Carolina;  Her special cousins: Mrs. Nell Jackson, Newark, New Jersey, Mrs. Adline Williamson, Cummings, South Carolina, Evangelist Doris Singleton, Varnville, South Carolina, Mrs. Pearline Heyward, Hampton, South Carolina, and Mrs. Annabelle; A Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
