Mr. Peter Sye Mutcherson, Jr. was born in Pembroke, Georgia on December 18, 1941 to Ms. Hattie Mutcherson Wiley and the late Mr. Peter Sye Mutcherson, Sr.  On August 22, 2014, Peter was summoned from earth's toils at Pruitt-Health, Estill, South Carolina.


He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina.  Upon graduation, Peter enlisted in the United States Army.  While in the military, he received numerous awards, including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman Medal, Expert Medal, Air Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.

Peter loved listening to various types of music.

Our beloved Peter was predeceased by his father, Mr. Peter Sye Mutcherson, Sr. and a nephew, Mr. Mark Joseph Reid.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his mother, Ms. Hattie Wiley of Varnville, South Carolina; One brother, Mr. Eugene Wiley (Isadore) of Gifford, South Carolina; Three sisters: Mrs. Iola Lingard (Andrew) and Ms. Peola Wiley, all of Varnville, South Carolina and Ms. Martha Reid of Aiken, South Carolina; One uncle, Mr. Thomas Mutcherson of Pembroke, Georgia; Two aunts: Ms. Alice Scott of Varnville, South Carolina and Ms. Polly Bryant of Hampton, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.
