Sister Janie Lou Salley-Coleman was born January 19, 1944 in Blackville, South Carolina to the late Deacon Willie and Mrs. Laura Bell Davis-Salley. She departed this life Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her residence in Blackville, South Carolina.
At an early age, she was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina. She, later in her Christian walk with God, moved her membership to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina. Janie served the body of Christ at Macedonia as an Usher Board member for over thirty years. She served faithfully until her health failed.
She was gainfully employed as a housekeeper for many years.
Ms. Janie Lou Salley-Coleman was married on April 11, 1980 to the late Mr. Curtis Coleman.
Preceding her in death are three brothers: Mr. J. C. Salley, Mr. Robert Salley, and Mr. Willie Salley, Jr.; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law, and two nephews.
She leaves to cherish memories of her to: Three sisters: Ms. Georgia L Robinson and Ms. Jennie R. Mays, both of Blackville, South Carolina and Ms. Laddie L. Salley (a devoted caregiver) of Augusta, Georgia; Four brothers: Mr. Sam Salley of Augusta, Georgia, Mr. John Sallie, Mr. Ben Salley, and Mr. Randy (Bettie) Salley (devoted caregivers), all of Blackville, South Carolina; A god-son, Mr. Kendric M. Salley of Williston, South Carolina; A number of foster children; An aunt, Ms. Alice Armstrong of Blackville, South Carolina; Devoted cousins: Clay Ann Young and Joshua Redfield; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
