     Sister Eunice Smith, daughter of the late Emory Smith, Sr. and the late Minnie Cohen Smith was born in Hampton, South Carolina, Hampton County on February 26, 1918. 

    At an early age, she joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church, Hampton, South Carolina where she faithfully served in numerous positions.  She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Senior Choir, the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Missionary Society, and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church School Board.  

     She lived and worked in New York City for over thirty years until she retired.  She was an active member of the Central Baptist Church in New York City.  She served as a member of the Central Baptist Church “Lily of the Valley Club”. Upon her retirement, she returned to South Carolina and continued to serve faithfully at Mt Olive until her death on October 7, 2014.  

     She served as an active and devoted member for sixty-three years as an Eastern Star.  She was a member of the Rising Star Chapter #359 Order of the Eastern Star, Rite of Adoption for the State of South Carolina in Hampton, South Carolina. 

     She enjoyed traveling and visiting her family and numerous friends. 

    She leaves to cherish her memories one Sister: Ms. Ora Smith of Hampton, South Carolina; Two Sisters-In-Law: Mrs. Margaret Smith of Port Royal, South Carolina and Mrs. Emma Smith of Hampton, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

     She was preceded in death by three Sisters: Eloise Smith Washington (Willie Heyward), Marie Smith Youmans (Phillip, Sr.), and Josephine Smith; and five Brothers: Emory Smith, Jr (Leola), Jessie Smith (Margaret), Arthur Smith (Jarean), Fred Smith (Emma), and Robert Lee Smith.
