Mr. James Washington Jr. was born March 28, 1949 to Rosa Lee Washington and the late James Washington Sr. He was called from labor to reward Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center, Lexington, South Carolina.
James attended and was a graduate of Bond Wilson High School, North Charleston, South Carolina. In 1991, he relocated to Columbia, South Carolina where he was gainfully employed at C.C. Container, Copper Power Tools, and Walmart Super Center, from which he later retired.
He was married to his soul mate, the former Ms. Betty Raysor for forty-two (42) years; this union was blessed with three (3) children.
In 2002, James became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Lexington, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Desmond Washington and Glendell Gladden.
James is survived by his wife, Betty R. Washington of Gaston, South Carolina; His children: Sabrina Washington of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Lashonda Washington and Jermaine (Kesha) Washington, all of Columbia, South Carolina, and Nicole (Reginald) Murray of North Charleston, South Carolina; (12) grandchildren; (4) great grandchildren;
He will be missed by his mother, Ms. Rosa Lee Washington of North Charleston, South Carolina; His siblings: Willie Washington (Lilian) of Rosedale, New York, Nechia Dent of Charleston, South Carolina, Jerome (Rhonda) Washington of Bronx, New York, Patricia (Stephen) Croker of Manhattan New York, Nathaniel Washington of Charleston, South Carolina, John Washington of Charleston, South Carolina and an adopted son, Darryl Washington of Atlanta; (2) aunts: Rose Clinton and Rebecca Jamison, both of Eutawville, South Carolina; His in-laws: Francia (Michael) Montague of Columbia South Carolina, Lynette Carrigan of Columbia, South Carolina, Larry Minus of Blackville, South Carolina, Willie Minus of West Palm Beach, Florida, Gloria Raysor of Far Rockaway, New York Shirley (Terrence) Walker of New York, Other relatives and Friends.
