Sister Eunice Lee McBride Byrd, the daughter of the late Mr. Eugene McBride and Mrs. Elease Fitts McBride, departed this life  Thursday,  March 19, 2015 at CS  Assistance  Living, Allendale South Carolina.  She was born October 31, 1929 in Hampton County, South Carolina. 

She was educated in the public school system of Hampton County, South Carolina.  Upon graduation,  Sister Bryd enrolled in the former Voorhees Boarding School where her trade was bookkeeping.  Ms. Eunice Byrd relocated to Elmsford, New York where she was employed by  General  Motors Corporation  as a  keyboard operator.   Thereafter, she became self-employed  as  a  cleaning service entrepreneur with her brother, the late Mr. Evan McBride.  

At the decline of the health of her mother, the late Mrs. Elease “Tiny” McBride, Sister Bryd returned to South Carolina. 

She was a member of Zion Fair Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina, where she served faithfully for many years.   

Ms. Byrd was married to the late Mr. Joseph Byrd.  

Loving memories will forever be cherished by a devoted and loving son, Mr. Jimmie Barnes (Diane); A step son, Joseph Byrd of Atlanta, Ga;  A host of nieces and nephews, including a devoted and loving nephew, Evangelist McBride of Camp Branch, SC; Other relatives and friends, which includes devoted friends, Thelma Coker and Elmer Mcquire, both of Camp Branch, SC.
