Mother Floria Hills Priester Thompson, beloved daughter of the late Deacon Tommy Hills and Mrs. Lizzie Dunbar Hills, was born on December 23, 1924 in Hampton County, South Carolina.  She received her Savior’s summon to eternal rest on Monday, July 6, 2015.  

Mother Thompson was educated in the public school of Hampton County, South Carolina.  She was baptized at an early age at Harmonia Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina, serving faithfully on the Senior Choir and Missionary Society. She was also a faithful member of Glad Tidings #48 Order of Eastern Star (OES) where she served as secretary for numerous years. 

She was a retired employee of Hampton School District One where she had been gainfully employed as a dietician for many years. 

In 1939, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Otis Priester.  She later entered into holy matrimony to the late Mr. David Thompson.  

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mr. Leroy Hills, Mr. Ernest Hills, Mr. Nathaniel Hills, Mr. Frank Hills, Mr. Noah Hills, Mrs. Gladys Johnson, Mrs. Viola C. Lingard, Mrs. Ruth Williams, and Mrs. Roberta Coker. 

She leaves to cherish fond memories, four children: Mr. Larry (Carrie) Priester, Mr. Haiston (Barbara) Priester, Mrs. Dorothy (Pastor Thomas) Doctor, and Ms. Elouise Hicks Doe, all of the Camp Branch Community of South Carolina; Two sisters-in-law: Ms. Agnes Hills of the Camp Branch Community of Varnville, South Carolina, and Ms. Liza Thompson of Cummings, South Carolina.  She also leaves to cherish her memories fourteen (14) grandchildren with whom she played an instrumental part in rearing: Bernard Priester, Ray (Marilyn) Priester , Gretta (Dallas) Beckett, Renee (Shaun) Harley, Thomas (Bridgett) Doctor, Jr., Melissa (Andrew) Jones, Manuel (Kathy) Doctor, Haiston (Dellena) Priester, Jr., Sylvester (Angela) Hicks, Sharon (Rufus) Capers, Tara (Stanley) Mack, Telley (Tekeya) Priester, Mary Priester, and Latonya Priester; Thirty (30) great grandchildren; Four (4) great great grandchildren; And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
