     On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, God called our beloved Lewis Smith from his sojourn here on earth.  He was born May 8, 1935 to the late Oregon and Annie Mae Smith.

     He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina.  At an early age, Lewis joined Blunt Chapel C.M.E. Church of Varnville, South Carolina.

     He enlisted in the United States Air Force from which he was honorably discharged in 1960.  Upon separation from the military, he became employed by the former Georgia Pacific Corporation of Varnville, South Carolina.  Lewis retired after working many, many years.

     Lewis was married to the late Deloris Smith.  Also preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his siblings: Annie Mary, Lester, Harold, Ralph, Johnny and Willie James Smith.

     To mourn his departure and cherish memories are: A daughter, Alene S. Campbell of Atlanta, Georgia; A granddaughter, Dehana Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; (2) Sisters: Gail (Marvin) Buckner of Varnville, South Carolina and Elouise (William) Robinson of Savannah, Georgia; A step-daughter, Magaline Riley, of Varnville, South Carolina; Five step grandchildren; (2) god-daughters: Cynthia Collins and Nijah Collins, both of Varnville, South Carolina; (2) god-grands; (4) Sisters-in-law: Thelma Smith, Ann Smith, Ethel Priester, and Nerva Edwards, all of Varnville, South Carolina; (1) Uncle, Eugene Jenkins of Varnville, South Carolina; A very devoted friend, German Davis of Varnville, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
