Ernest Joyner III, the son of Ernest Joyner, Jr. and the late Barbara Ann Sanders Joyner, was born November 15, 1968 in Allendale County, South Carolina. He was called from labor to reward on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Providence Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina.
Ernest was a 1987 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, South Carolina. He thereafter furthered his education at Newberry College, Newberry, South Carolina, graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine, Chemistry, and Engineering.
Ernest was gainfully employed for twenty-six years by Valmont Composite Structures (Carsonite) located in Newberry, South Carolina. His position at Valmont was Product Manager.
Ernest attended Huspah Missionary Baptist Church, Hampton, South Carolina.
He loved his high school alma mater, Wade Hampton High School of Varnville, South Carolina. At Wade Hampton, he worked in the Athletic Department as the Sports Medicine Trainer. On October 10, 2014, Ernest was inducted into the Hampton School District One Athletic Hall of Fame.
Ernest was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Sanders Joyner; his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Sanders, Sr.; and his paternal grandfather, Ernest Joyner, Sr.
To cherish memories are his wife, Pamela Jo Gardner Joyner of the home; His father, Ernest Joyner, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Allendale, South Carolina; Three sisters: Sharon Joyner of Hampton, South Carolina, Teresa (Terrance) Gambrell and Karen Joyner, all of Columbia, South Carolina; Two brothers: Joe (Marisha) Joyner of Barnwell, South Carolina and Seth Owens of Varnville, South Carolina; His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph (Melliavee) Gardner of Peebles, Ohio; One sister-in-law, Renee (Jim) Gord of Dayton, Ohio; One brother-in-law, Joe (Michelle) Gardner of Georgetown, Kentucky; A special friend, Brad Craspe; Five aunts: Annie Lee (Jerry) Sanders of Gifford, South Carolina, Patricia (Bennie) Sanders of Warner Robins, Georgia, Clarice (Willie) Sanders of Varnville, South Carolina, Josephine (Julius) Hall of Savannah, Georgia, and his favorite aunt and guardian, Maggie (the late Deacon Mick) Sanders of Hampton, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
