Reflecting Upon His Life

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die…..Eccles. 3:1-2 (KJV)

Mr. Nathaniel Fuller, Sr. departed this life January 17, 2015 at his residence in Gifford, South Carolina.  He was the third child born January 17, 1951 in Brunson, South Carolina to the late James Fuller, Sr. and Elise R. Simpson.

He attended the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina; and at an early age, he began attendance at Second Baptist Church, Brunson, South Carolina.  As a young man, he established a talent and love for brick masonry of which he was gainfully employed with family and close friends.

“Nate” was known by many and loved by all.  He lived and enjoyed life while traveling and for a period of time living in Newark, New Jersey; but most of his life was lived in Tampa, Florida.  Eventually, Nate returned back home to his love ones in Gifford, South Carolina.  He was flamboyant, known mostly for his smooth karate moves.

In 1976, Nathaniel Fuller, Sr. was joined in Holy Matrimony to Betty Jean Hutchinson.  They resided in the Honey Hill Community of Estill, South Carolina.  In 1980, they began a family, living in Brunson, South Carolina for years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Fuller, Sr., Elise R. Simpson and Ellen Crittington; his wife, Betty Fuller; a daughter, Dorean Wesley; a sister, Mary Ellen Ruth; and a brother, Lewis Simpson.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 (KJV)

Nate leaves to cherish his memories two daughters: Natiema Fuller-Busby of Port Royal, South Carolina and Inetha Heyward (Henry) of Williston, South Carolina; One son, Nathaniel Fuller, Jr. (Alicia) of Ridgeland, South Carolina; Six grandchildren: Michael Busby, ShaMyria Busby, Jamel Busby, Jamal Busby, Whitney Wesley and Isaiah Wesley; One great grandchild, Logan Williams; One sister, Annette Smith (Michael) of Varnville, South Carolina; Nine brothers: James Fuller, Jr. of Hillside, New Jersey, Carl L. Simpson of Gifford, South Carolina, Michael Simpson (Blanca) of Brunson, South Carolina, Ricky Wright (Patricia) of Fairfax, South Carolina, Douglas Wright (Audrey) of Gifford, South Carolina, Walter Crittington, Jr. of Varnville, South Carolina, James Crittington (Arlene) of Guyton, Georgia, Eugene Crittington (Tina) of Varnville, South Carolina, and Albert Crittington of Fairfax, South Carolina; Two Aunts: Mary Jane R. Pray of Savannah, Georgia, and Beulah Risher Hamlet of Yucca Valley, California; In-laws: Sarah Hutchinson, Brenda Beckett (Henry) Ethel Haynes, Elizabeth Mixon (James), Charles Carlton (Beatrice), Bobby Hutchinson, Thomas Hutchinson, Cleveland Hutchinson; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
