On January 29, 1968, Mr. Mark Joseph Reid, Sr. was born in Hampton County, South Carolina to Martha Reid-Dunbar of Aiken, South Carolina and Mr. Roosevelt Reid, Sr. of San Bernardino, California. He was reared in the home of his devoted and loving grandmother, Ms. Hattie Wiley. On July 15, 2014, Mark was called from earth’s toils to eternal reward while at Roper Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina.
He was a 1987 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, South Carolina. Mark was gainfully employed as a truck driver with Swift Trucking Company for many years. He was seeking religion at the Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses (the Kingdom Hall) of Hampton, South Carolina.
He loved fishing and spending time with his children.
Our beloved Mark leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Thomasena Reid of Ridgeland, S.C.; (2) Sons: Mark Reid, Jr. of Varnville, S.C. and Taquan Eady of Ridgeland, S.C.; (1) Daughter, Marquisha Reid of Varnville, S.C.; His mother, Martha Reid-Dunbar of Aiken, S.C.; His father, Roosevelt Reid, Sr. of San Bernardino, CA; (1) Brother, Roosevelt Reid, Jr. (Maria Luz) of Varnville, S.C.; (3) Sisters: Hattie Fields (Willie) of Allendale, S.C., Jamika Dunbar and Richardlean Dunbar, both of Aiken, S.C.; (3) Sisters-in-law: Wonita Goodman and Akia Goodman, both of Robertsville, S.C. and Shonya Hamilton of Ridgeland, S.C.; (4) Aunts: Iola Lingard (Andrew) and Peola Wiley, both of Varnville, S.C., Bessie M. Reese and Mary Moore, both of Hampton, S.C.; (2) Uncles: Eugene Wiley (Isadora) of Gifford, S.C. and Peter Mutcherson of Varnville, S.C.; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.
