On Saturday evening, August 9, 2014, at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, South Carolina, our beloved Tonie M. Brown was summoned from earth’s toils to her eternal home. Tonie was born August 6, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York to Evangelist Vionnia Dunbar Adams and the late Deacon James Adams, Sr.
At an early age, Tonie accepted Christ and became a baptized member of Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church,Varnville, South Carolina. While living in South Carolina, she attended Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, South Carolina. She relocated to Brooklyn, New York and attended Washington Ervin High School, New York City, New York. In New York, Tonie attended All People’s Church located in Brooklyn, New York. Before retiring, Tonie was gainfully employed as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
In July, 2014, Tonie M. Brown returned to South Carolina. Upon returning, she reconnected with Zion Fair Baptist Church. She explored the world through reading. Her other enjoyments were shopping, buying jewelry, and nail salon visits.
To mourn her home going and cherish fond memories are: (2) Children: Latoyia Minor (Daniel) of Orlando, Florida and Emanuel Brown, Jr. of Long Island, New York; (1) Grandchild, Ethan Brown of Long Island, New York; Her mother, Evangelist Vionnia Adams of Varnville, South Carolina; (2) Brothers: James Adams, Jr. of Queens, New York and Smolosky Dunbar (Ella Mae) of Varnville, South Carolina; A special devoted friend, Erskine Dunton of Varnville, South Carolina; (3) Aunts: Mabel Adams of New York; Beatrice A. Carsenave of Brooklyn, New York and Beverly A. Fields of Harrisonburg, Virginia; (1) niece, Ava Adams of Long Island, New York; (1) Nephew, Tristan Adams of Long Island, New York; Other relatives and friends, which includes a special friend, Stacey Manuel of Brooklyn, New York.
