On Friday, April 10, 2020, at her residence in Varnville, South Carolina, God called Helen Ruth Nelson from labour to reward.  She was born February 2, 1926, in Gifford, South Carolina to the late Mr. Talbert Ruth and Mrs. Lillie Bell Johnson Ruth.
 
At an early age, she and her family moved to Brooklyn, New York. She was educated in the public schools of New York and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C. L. Franklin. She was a faithful member.
 
Ms. Helen Nelson was formerly employed by the state of New York, Department of Taxation & Finance, from which she retired. Upon retirement, the family moved back to South Carolina.
 
She was married to the late Mr. William Nelson. To this union was one son, Robert who preceded her in death, was born.
 
She leaves to mourn her grandson, Robert Nelson of the home;  (2) grandchildren: Morgan & RaJaun; (1) Great grandchild, Markiane; Her sister, Pearl McGill of Varnville, South Carolina; a devoted family friend, Barbara Vanterpool; Other relatives and friends.
