The Obituary

Mother Charlotte Virginia Deloach-Garvin, affectionately called “Peachy”, was born on December 4, 1926 in Pineland, South Carolina to the late Reverend Tobe Deloach, Jr. and Mrs. Mini Lou Mungin Deloach.  This union was blessed with nine children. 

She was educated in the public schools of Robertsville, Jasper County, South Carolina.  She remained there until she reached the highest grade achievable. After the graduation of her children, Mother Garvin returned to school and was awarded her GED Diploma. 

Mother Garvin was a faithful member of 2nd Thankful Baptist Church where she served as Head Church Usher and was recognized as Mother of the Church.  She dutifully attended the Deacon Union, Bethel Union, and the Sunday School Convention.   Other organizations included membership in the Hampton County Branch of the NAACP and Honorary Deaconess of Padgett Branch Baptist Church. 

She was married to the late Deacon Aaron Garvin, Sr. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children: Carolyn Garvin-Lopez, John Charles Garvin, and Virginia Ann Garvin; four sisters; and two brothers. 

To Cherish Memories and mourn her departure are six children:  Ms. Lottie B. Garvin and Ms. Vernetta Garvin, both of Pineland, SC; Four brothers: Mr. Aaron Garvin, Jr. of AZ, Mr. Cary Garvin (Verna L.) of Pineland, SC, Mr. Frederick Garvin of AZ, and Mr. Johnny Ray Garvin of NJ; One sister, Mrs. Rebecca Ready of Pineland, SC; A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
