Mr. Lewis Calvin Pryor, affectionately called “TABBY”, was born to the late Mr. Roosevelt and Mrs. Willie L. Pryor on October 14, 1954, in Varnville, South Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia.
At an early age, Mr. Lewis Pryor joined and attended Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Hampton South Carolina.
He also attended Wade Hampton High School of Hampton County, South Carolina and later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended Lincoln Jr. Sr. High School. He entered the work force as a Supply Side Packing Plant Productions employee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1974. Later, Mr. Lewis relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he was an intricate force in building several Asphalt Companies such as Athens Atlanta Paving and Fulton Paving. He was co-founded of a family-owned paving and construction company, BP Infrastructure Services of Fayetteville, Georgia.
He was known to be very compassionate about helping others in their time of need. Whether it involved monetary funds or physical support, Lewis would be the one to call on; and he would give a helping hand. Everyone knew Lewis as “Calvin” or “Tabby”.
Many will miss him and his exceptional personality dearly, for God has called him home.
His life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
He was preceded in death by her his father, Roosevelt Pryor Sr; mother, Willie L. Pryor; brothers: Roosevelt Pryor Jr. and Johnny Pryor; and sister, Martha Pryor – Turman.
He leaves to Cherish in loving memory (5) Brothers: Lloyd Pryor of Evans, Georgia; Jimmy Pryor, Larry (Margurita Young) Pryor, Ray Pryor, and Gerald Pryor all of Atlanta, Georgia; (1) Sister, Jeannette Rockett; (1) Brother-in-law, Arthur Rockett of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; (1) Uncle-In-Law, General James of Stilson, Georgia; (1) Aunt-In-Law, Mrs. Ceal Pryor of Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins with additional family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
