Washington’s Funeral Home endeavors to promote social distancing as well as limit the number of persons during each view.  Facial masks will be required for entrance into the funeral home. We ask that you would, after viewing, please exit.  This will allow others the opportunity to view as well.  Please, no gathering outside afterwards.   We also request that facial masks be worn at the graveside service.  Social distancing will be practiced as well.  Thank you in advance.

The Obituary

Robert Lee Garvin was born to Mrs. Elise Garvin and the late Ruben Garvin Sr. on December 26, 1957. He departed this earthly life at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, South Carolina on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

He received Christ under the leadership of Varnville Miracle Revival Center of Varnville, South Carolina. For the last year, Robert Lee has served under the leadership of Pastor TC Smalls at Greater Refuge as a dedicated deacon, musician, and minister of the word.

Robert was a hard worker, serving the industrial industries for many years. He began working in his early teens at Allendale Yarn of Allendale, South Carolina, then to Georgia Pacific of Varnville, South Carolina, and lastly to Elliot Sawmill of Estill, South Carolina. He then became self employed, starting his personally owned lawn service until he was unable to continue.

Preceding him in death in addition to his father are three brothers: Ruben Garvin Jr., Eugene Garvin, and Wallace Garvin. 

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Annie M. Garvin of the home; his son, Jermaine L. Garvin; a daughter, Tanesha G. Ladson, and a son James Fludd Garvin; Six Grandchildren: Kateara Ladson, Kenyon Ladson Jr., Kadin Ladson, Kaleb Ladson, Kyland Ladson, and Kelton Ladson; a son-in-love, Kenyon Ladson Sr.; his mother, Elise Garvin; two brothers: Ned Myers and Jackie Garvin. Numerous nephews, nieces, friends,  in-laws and caring friends.
