Mr. Bernard Jackson, son of the late Willie and Josie Lee Jackson, was born April 24, 1955, in Hampton County, SC.  He entered eternal rest Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Lowcountry Community Hospice House of Summerville, SC. 

He received his education in the public school system of Hampton County, South Carolina.  At an early age, Bernard gave his life to Christ, becoming a baptized member of Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church.  Bernard worked at Ember Door Company and Carsonite both of Varnville, SC. He was employed at Colleton School District, Bells Elementary School, as a custodian for many years prior to his retirement.
 
Early in his life, he married his sweetheart, Mrs. Nellie Harris. This union was blessed with four children: Travise, Roderick, Kevin, and Cassandra. 

The memories he left will be cherished by his loving family; His children: Travise Sr. (Sharice) Jackson, Roderick Sr. (Latoya) Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Sr. of Varnville, SC, and Cassandra Jackson of Raleigh, NC; A loving and devoted companion, Hattie Chisolm of Smoaks, SC;  His siblings: Ida (Willie) Williams of Varnville, SC, James (Catherine) Jackson of Varnville, SC, Daisy Black of Austin, TX, Martha Garvin of Varnville, SC, JoAnn (Sylvester) Ready of Pineland, SC and Raymond Jackson of Varnville, SC; His adopted sisters reared in the home: Carolyn (Willie) Wesley and Joyce (Raymond) Dunbar both of Varnville, SC, and LaShay Black Austin, TX;  One Aunt, Sadie Green Estill, SC; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grands;  A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including a special family, The Lawtons.
