On Monday, July 5, 2021, our beloved Catherine K. Simmons, 79, formerly of Seabrook Island, South Carolina was summoned by her Creator while inpatient at Jacobi Hospital, Bronx, New York.  Born September 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Ralph Simmons, Sr. and Mrs. Victoria McBride Simmons. 

She was educated in the public schools of Seabrook Island, South Carolina and a graduate of Colleton High School, Walterboro, South Carolina.  She furthered her education at Bronx Community College, where she was certified in the field of Home Health Services.  At a young age, Mrs. Catherine Simmons became a member of Samaritan Baptist Church of Bennetts Point, South Carolina. 

Catherine was employed at Alexander’s Department Store of Bronx, New York as well as being employed by Home Health Care of New York. 

She loved being a servant in the Green Pasture Church of Bronx, New York where she loved not only service but singing as well. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Charles Simmons, Oscar Lee Simmons, James Simmons, and Roger Simmons; and, one sister, Elrena Simmons. 

To mourn her home going are her sons: Larry Simmons of Bronx, New York, Michael (Tammy) Simmons of Sumter, South Carolina and Hiram Simmons of Bronx, New York; (3) Sisters: Lillian White of Manhattan, New York, Janevese Welch of Beaufort, South Carolina and Betty Mae Simmons of Bronx, New York;  Two brothers: Ralph (Josephine) Simmons of Bennetts Point, South Carolina and Haskell Simmons of Beaufort, South Carolina; Three Grands; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of the family.
