Roy Rogers “Tweety” Lingard was born in Varnville, South Carolina, June 25, 1956 to the late Henry Lingard and Mell Capers Lingard.  He departed this life only to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Charles Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia.

At an early age, “Tweety” joined Antioch Christian Church located in Varnville South Carolina.  His love in singing for the Lord led him to join the Antioch Male Chorus.

He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina.  Upon graduation from Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, South Carolina, “Tweety” enlisted in the United States Army, from which he was honorably discharged.

“Tweety” was preceded in death by his parents; His step mother, Bernice Lingard; One sister, Mattie Lee Murdaugh; and One brother, Nicky Anthony Lingard.

To cherish his loving memories, he leaves: (3) Brothers: Willie Haynes (Barbara) of Varnville, South Carolina, Henry Lingard, Jr. (Lois) of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Matthew Lingard of Beaufort, South Carolina; His caretaker and special niece, Shelia Murdaugh of Jacksonville, North Carolina; (2) Maternal aunts: Martha Capers and Evang. Elizabeth Capers (James Lee), all of Varnville, South Carolina; (3) Maternal uncles: James Capers of Varnville, South Carolina, Elijah Capers (Minnie Lee) of Hephzibah, Georgia, and Timothy Capers of Whiteville, North Carolina; (5) Paternal Aunts: Dora Lingard, Maggie Robinson, and  Gereacher Outing, all of Varnville, South Carolina, and Lennis Grant of Brooklyn, New York; (1) Paternal Uncle, Andrew Lingard (Iola) of Varnville South Carolina; (1) Devoted brother-in-law/friend, Myron Chaun Kearse of Varnville, South Carolina; (6) Nieces; (4) Nephews; a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and loving friends.
