Deacon Willie James Grant was born on February 9, 1957,in Hampton County, South Carolina to the late Steven and Corine Grant. He was called from earthly labor to reward on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his residence in Hampton, South Carolina.
Deacon Willie James Grant was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina.
At a young age, he became a baptized member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina. He served the body of Christ faithfully. Because of his faithfulness and devotion, Willie James Grant was ordained on August 28, 2011 and installed as a deacon at Mt. Sinai.
Deacon Willie James Grant, after thirty-eight (38) years of dedicated service, retired as an employee of the Town of Varnville, South Carolina. Not only was he a faithful worker, he was a devoted and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Whatever he found his hands to do, he would do it faithfully.
He was preceded in death by: Son-in-law, Donnell L. Scott; Niece, Regina Rivers; (2) Brothers: J. T. and Robert; and (3) Sisters: Maryann, Helen and Bessie.
His loving memories will be cherished by his devoted wife of thirty-eight years, Evangelist Annette Grant, of the home; (4) Sons: Willie (Jocelyn) Grant of Sumter, South Carolina, Steven (Shiara) Grant of West Palm Beach, Florida, Jacolby (Mary) Grant of Varnville, South Carolina, and Brandon (Barbara) Grant of Walterboro, South Carolina; (3) Daughters: Rozona Scott of Yemassee, South Carolina, Chrishonda (Gerald) Romain of Estill, South Carolina, and Colesha (Tyrone) Collins of Beaufort, South Carolina; (14) Grandchildren; (3) Sisters: Mary Grant and Verna Grant, both of Varnville, South Carolina, and Annie L. (Leon) Rivers of Hampton, South Carolina; (2) Brothers: Johnny Hayes of Varnville, South Carolina and Jeff Campbell of Sarasota, Florida; His father and mother-in-law, Deacon Junior Lee (Rosa) Smalls of Varnville, South Carolina; (5) Sisters-in-law: Evangelist Lucinda (Frankie) Bennett, Bobbie Smalls, Linda Smalls, Maggie Robinson, and Deloris (Roger) Capers, all of Varnville, South Carolina; (2) Brothers-in-law: Jerry (Evangelist Valarie) Smalls of Estill, South Carolina and Evangelist Larry (Sherry) Smalls of Early Branch, South Carolina; (4) Uncles: Pastor T.
