Teresa Denise Copeland was born to Gloria Washington and the late Willie James Washington of Blackville, South Carolina.  She was born on December 29, 1966 in Queens, New York.  Teresa departed her earthly home and entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, August 28, 2017.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Saint Paul Baptist Church in Snelling, South Carolina.  Upon establishing residency in North Augusta, South Carolina, she became a member of First Providence Baptist Church of North Augusta.  She served the body of Christ as financial secretary of the Church Oversight Ministry, accountant/auditor of the First Providence Foundation 29841 Board of Directors, and a member of the First Providence Ladies of the Foundation 29841.  Teresa holds the prestigious honor of Woman of the Year, 2013, First Providence Baptist Church, North Augusta, South Carolina.

She was a 1985 graduate of Barnwell High School, Barnwell, South Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  She was gainfully employed in finance for over twenty-five years in several local banks, including Palmetto Federal of Aiken, South Carolina, Regions Bank, and Georgia Bank & Trust (both of Augusta, Georgia), and currently, South State Bank of Augusta, Georgia.

Teresa was a loving, kind hearted, and sweet spirited wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.  Her calm nature lends itself to touch the lives of many; and she will be missed beyond measure.

To cherish her precious memories are: A devoted husband, Steve Copeland of the home; (2) Sons: Steven Copeland and Darius Copeland of the home; Her mother, Gloria Washington of Blackville, South Carolina; (2) Brothers: Anthony Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, and Travis Washington of Blackville, South Carolina; (6) Aunts: Elease (Robert) Robinson of Aiken South Carolina, Isabella ( James) Stephens Evans of Georgia, Luether (Rueben) Bryant  of Norfolk Virginia, Irma ( Lawrence ) Merchinson of Savanah, Georgia, Joan Jessie Hayes of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Dorothy H.
