On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, our beloved Mother Agnes Hill answered the heavenly call from labor to rest. She departed this life while at Life Care Center of Charleston, North Charleston, South Carolina.
Born in Varnville, South Carolina on July 26, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Marion Doctor and Martha Doctor.
At an early age, Mother Agnes Hill confessed Christ and Lord and Savior and became a member of Antioch Christian Church, Varnville, South Carolina. She served the body of Christ at Antioch as a Senior Choir Member, Antioch Church Usher and recently, Mother of the Church. For seventy two years, she was affiliated with Glad Tiding Chapter No. 48, Order of Eastern Star, Varnville, South Carolina. In 1997, she was awarded a plaque for unlimited service to the organization.
Mother Hill was married on July 26, 1931 to the late Ernest Hill; this union was blessed with six children.
She was a retired employee of Hampton Elementary School, Hampton, South Carolina. Her love and joy were cooking, gardening, caring for her chickens, and loving on her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by (3) Sons: Ivan Hill, Rodell Hill, and Clide Hill; (2) Daughters: Betty Ruth Miller and Dorothy Hill.
To cherish her memories are: A son, Douglas Hills of Bushkill, Pennsylvania; Twelve grandchildren: Rodell Jerome, Judy, Lenora, Brenda, Linda, Ursula, Leslie, Douglas, Jr., Chantell, Kevin, Sirnonia, and Cynthia; A host of great grands; Nieces, Grand nieces, Nephews, Grand nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
