Mrs. Marvile Jean Thompson, the daughter of the late Roosevelt “Bucky” Joyner and Deloris Joyner was born November 10, 1955 in Hampton, South Carolina.  Marvile passed from labor to reward on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, South Carolina. 

Marvile was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina and graduated  from Wade Hampton High School, Class of 1974.  She furthered her education at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. 

Marvile was joined in holy matrimony for 42 years to the love of her life, Emanueal Thompson, on June 20, 1975; and to this union, three children were born.  Her oldest son, Derrick Thompson, preceded her in death. 

At an early age, she joined and was baptized at the New Hope Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina.  She was a faithful member and held many positions including: Assistant Secretary, President and Vice-President of the Gospel Choir. 

Marvile was employed by the Low Country Council of Governments in Point South, South Carolina.  She was the Director of Aging Services before retiring in 2015, after thirty-four years of dedicated service. 

She leaves to cherish the following loved ones: a loving husband of the home, Emanueal Thompson, Early Branch, SC; a loving mother, Deloris Joyner, Varnville, SC; (2) children: Annette Thompson, Columbia, SC, and Travis Thompson, Early Branch, SC; (2) grandsons:  Xavier Thompson and Joshua McCoy, Columbia, SC; (2) sisters:  Loretta (Dea. Henry) Stevens, Hampton, SC and Autheree (Clifford) Hopkins, Varnville, SC; (2) brothers:  Kenneth Joyner, Varnville, SC, and Franklin (Velma) Joyner, Columbia, SC; a devoted mother-in-law, Liza Thompson, Early Branch, SC; (3) sisters-in-law:  Annie Pearl (James) Butler, Queen Thompson, and Senovia Thompson, all of Early Branch, SC;  (1) brother-in-law,  Timothy (Leverne) Thompson, Early Branch, SC;  A host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and sympathizing friends.  

Always kind, always helpful, and always dependable.  Marvile was a wonderful wife, compassionate mother, darling daughter, an overall loving person that enjoyed spending time with her family.
