Hampton, South Carolina - Ms. Fannie Lee Hay, daughter of the late Mr. James Hay and Mrs. Lula Miley Hay, was born June 12, 1934 in Hampton County, South Carolina. She succumbed to the call of death Thursday, March 6, 2014, at her residence in the Pine Grove Community of Hampton, South Carolina.
She was formerly employed for many years as a homemaker for the Brunson and Ellis families in Hampton County.
At an early age, she became a member of Cherry Grove Christian Church, Brunson, South Carolina. At Cherry Grove Christian Church, she served faithfully as a choir member and member of the Pastor’s Aide Society, until her health failed.
Preceding her in death was her life long companion, Mr. Allen Davis. In addition to him, Ms. Fannie Lee Hay was also preceded by her brother, Mr. Eugene Hay and sister, Ms. Susie Hay Ackerman Singletary.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: (2) Daughters: Mrs. Mary Collins and Mrs. Margaret Hay (Danny), all of Hampton, South Carolina; (1) Son, Mr. Kenneth Hay (Anglia Lisa) of Charlotte, North Carolina; (3) Very special nephews considered as sons: Mr. Frankie Hay (CW3 Debra) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mr. Sammie Singletary (Jeanette) of Hampton, South Carolina, and Mr. Willie Junior (Barbara) of Barnwell, South Carolina; (13) Grandchildren; (14) Great-grandchildren; Reared as her godchildren: Mrs. Emily Brunson Hiers (Buddy), Mrs. Mary Ann Foy (Bubba), Mr. Rick Brunson (Louise), and Mr. Henry Brunson, Jr. (Sylvia); (2) Step-children: Mr. Lorenzo Davis (Shirley) of Columbus, Georgia and Mrs. Amy Davis of Jacksonville, Florida; (1) Sister, Mrs. Albertha Singletary of Hampton, South Carolina; (2) Sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Frances Hay of Hampton, South Carolina and Mrs. Ellen Coker of Varnville, South Carolina; A special niece, Mrs. Janie Moore of Hampton, South Carolina; A good friend, Mrs. Mary Louise Jeter; A special cousin, Mrs. Juliette Williams; A cousin and good friend, Maggie Miley; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
