A Time to be Born

Eric Lenord Gilliard, son of the late James Gethers, Jr. and Freezie Gilliard Jackson, was born October 15, 1962 in Walterboro, South Carolina. 

A Time to Grow

He received his education in the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Walterboro High School.  He then furthered his education at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration.

A Time to Work

He was faithfully employed by the Department of the Navy for 32 years.

A Time for Love

In 1988, he married the love of his life, Ethelyn J. Dunbar, and to this union three children were born.

A Time to Worship

At an early age, he gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at St. Mary A.M.E. church in Green Pond, South Carolina. 

A time to Die

God saw the need to give him rest when he called him from labor to reward him on January 7, 2014.

To Cherish everlasting memories are his loving wife, Ethelyn J. Gilliard; One son, Stephan Gilliard (Ashley) of North Charleston, SC; Two daughters: Chasity Gilliard of Charleston, SC and Paige Gilliard of Green Pond, SC; One grandmother, Mrs. Katie Gilliard of Green Pond, SC; Two maternal sisters: Ogletha Fludd (Darrell Fludd) of Miami, FL and Carol Jackson-Powell (Kenneth) of Charleston, SC; One maternal brother, Saint Julian Jackson of Green Pond, SC and a host of paternal siblings; One niece, Kenna Brinay Powell and One nephew, Kenneth Andrew Powell of Charleston, SC; Two brother in laws Jeremy Dunbar and Benjamin Dunbar both of Varnville, SC; Two Uncles: Cleveland Gilliard of New York, NY and Lee Gilliard (Dorothy) of Accokeek, MD; One grand aunt, Elizabeth Richards of Savannah, GA, a host of family members and close friends.
