Brother Roy Brantley, son of the late Mr. Ollie and Pearl Brantley, was born in Hampton County, South Carolina on September 24, 1943.  He was called home to rest on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, South Carolina.

"Roy" was a faithful member of Efferson Missionary Baptist Church, Nixville Community of  Estill, South Carolina where he served on the Male Chorus for several years.  He loved to sing.

He was educated in the public school system of Hampton County, South Carolina.  Upon graduation, Roy relocated to New Jersey where he resided for several years.  He was employed by Kent Steel as a driver.  Roy returned home in 1994.

Preceding him in death are his parents: Ollie and Pearl Brantley and one son.

To cherish fond memories are (2) Sisters: Pearlie Brantley of Nixville, South Carolina and Elnora Newton (John) of Lena, South Carolina; (5) Brothers: Elder Coy Brantley (Earlene) of Furman, South Carolina, Harrison Brantley (Naomi) of Maplewood, New Jersey, Willingham Brantley (Jeanette) of Ridgeland, South Carolina, a devoted brother James Brantley, Sr. (Grace) of Pineland, South Carolina and Robert Brantley (Sharon) of Trikirt, Iraq; (6) Aunts: Leola Gordon and Louise Williams, both of Nixville, South Carolina, Mariah Brantley of Lena, South Carolina, Addie Haynes (Frances) of Nixville, South Carolina, Jeanette Sullivan of Jacksonville, Florida and Geraldine Cohen of Beaufort, South Carolina; (1) Uncle, Abraham Brantley of Nixville, South Carolina; A God-daughter, Bridgett Wright; (2) God-sons: Keith Williams and Ron Black; (2) God-grandchildren; (3) Sisters-in-law: Shirley Scott, Jacquelyn Mungin and Ordell Wright (Leroy); (1) Brother-in-law, Lambert Mungin; A special nephew, Minister James Brantley, Jr.; Special cousins: Deacon Kenny Gordon and Ruthie Furman; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, which includes special friends Elizabeth Williams, Anna Isham, Ira Brooks and Linsey Wright.
