THE OBITUARY

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. “  II Timothy 4:6-8.

Brother Ronell McQuire, the son of the late Deacon Claude and Mellie C. McQuire, was born in Hampton County, South Carolina January 10, 1939.  He departed this life Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his residence.

Ronell was a 1960 graduate of the former North District Training School, Varnville, South Carolina. He was employed for numerous years in the shipping department with the former Embler Door Company of Varnville, South Carolina.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Retha Mae Smith on October 8, 1968. This union was blessed with three daughters.

At an early age, Brother McQuire joined Zion Fair Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina where he worked faithfully in many capacities. He established the first Junior Choir at Zion Fair.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  His Wife,  Retha M. McQuire of the home; Three Daughters:  Adrena Tracy (Michael) Williams of Varnville, South Carolina,  April (Otis) Barr of Smyrna, Georgia, and Jessica LaShawn McQuire of  Varnville, South Carolina; (4) Grand  children: Quinton Williams of Denmark, South Carolina, Christopher Barr of Smyrna, Georgia, Kyler MQuire of Varnville, South Carolina, and Chloe Barr of Smyrna, Georgia; (1) Great grand: Gabriell Williams of Denmark, South Carolina.Two  Sisters: Thelma (Deacon Mervin) Coker and Mildred (Willie) McQuire both of Varnville, South Carolina; Four Brothers:  Elmer (Pauline)McQuire, Angus (Evangelist Elise) McQuire, William (Edna Ray) McQuire and Delano (Aquilla) McQuire all of Varnville, South Carolina; One Sister-in-law, Catherine O. McQuire of Varnville, South Carolina; One Brother-in-law, Jerome (Cora) Smith of Allendale, South Carolina; One Aunt:  Vera Mae Campbell of  Varnville, South Carolina;  A very devoted and caring niece:  Chelsea Elise Robinson of Varnville, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
