Brother Darrell Xavier Suggs, son of the late Johnny Suggs and Willie Mae Suggs Irons began his life’s journey on August 8, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York.
Brother Suggs joined Holy Temple Church of God in Christ at an early age in Bamberg, South Carolina. He graduated from Bamberg-Erhardt High School Class of 1990. He was an avid “Red Raiders, Clemson Tigers, and 49ers sports fan.
Brother Suggs received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from ECPI University in Charleston, South Carolina. He was employed at Boeing-Charleston for 13 years as a Supply Chain Management Analyst.
Brother Suggs loved people and he was a “distinguished gentleman” in his attire at all times and brought great joy and laughter to many.
Brother Suggs was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mr. James Allen Irons, Sr.; and father-in-law, Mr. Frank Mixson, Jr.
Brother Suggs’ love, legacy, memory and inspiration will forever be engraved in the hearts of his devoted wife of twenty-two (22) years, Tammera Mixson-Suggs of Goose Creek, South Carolina; one son, Darrell Xavier Suggs, Jr. (aka DJ), Charlotte, North Carolina; His beloved Mother, Willie Mae Suggs Irons of Aiken, South Carolina; Five Sisters: Sheila (Edward) Suggs-Green, Aiken, South Carolina; Valdreana Suggs and Twonda Suggs both of Graniteville, South Carolina; Blanche (Elijah) Meeks, Bamberg, South Carolina; and Kanisha Irons, Greenville, South Carolina; Three brothers; Kenneth (Natasha) Lincoln, Decatur, Georgia; John (Leasher) Suggs, Bamberg, South Carolina; and James (Yolanda) Irons, Williston, South Carolina. A stepsister and brother: Marilyn Moody, Bamberg, South Carolina, and Russell (Cricket) Rumph, Warrenville, South Carolina; Mother-in-law, Barbara (the late Frank) Mixson, Jr., Varnville, South Carolina; Three sisters-in-law: Shirley Doctor, Hampton, South Carolina; Felisha (Vincent Tyrone) Frazier, Varnville, South Carolina and Monica (Jonathan) Clark, West Columbia, South Carolina.
His earthly presence will also be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, and friends.
