Mother Willie Lessie Pryor was born to the late Mr. Floyd C. and Mrs. Ida E. Rivers-Walker on January 18, 1924 in Sylvania GA. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 28, 2019 at the Concordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, GA.
Mrs. Pryor, at an early age, joined the Black Creek Baptist Church in Sylvania GA. On June 27, 1942 she united in Holy Wedlock to the late Mr. Roosevelt Pryor of Stilson GA. Together were born ten beautiful children. After marriage, the couple relocated to Hampton S. C. where she became a domestic worker and continued her education within the Hampton County School System. Shortly after her arrival in Hampton, Mrs. Willie Lessie Pryor was blessed to continue her Christian experience through the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Hampton S. C., where she was a faithful and dedicated member, performed community service, and sung on the Senior Choir for many glorious years.
Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Pryor, Sr; two sons: Roosevelt Pryor, Jr. and Johnny Pryor; a daughter, Martha Pryor – Turman; and two sisters: Estella and Anna.
She leaves to Cherish in loving memory (6) Sons: Lloyd Pryor of Augusta GA, Jimmy Pryor, Calvin Pryor, Larry Pryor, Ray Pryor, and Gerald Pryor all of Atlanta GA; (1) Daughter, Jeannette Pryor of Milwaukee WI.; (1) Sister, Norma Inabinett of Brooklyn NY; (1) Brother-in-law, General James of Stilson GA.; (1) Sister-in-law, Ceal Pryor of Mt. Clemens Michigan; Several grandchildren; Several great grandchildren; And great-great grandchildren; She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
