On Saturday, December 21, 2019, Willie Junior Dunbar received the summon of death while inpatient at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, South Carolina.  Born August 14, 1944, he was the second sibling of the late Mr. Norman Dunbar and Mrs. Verna Bell McQuire Dunbar.

As a young man, “Bunchie” as he was affectionately called, joined Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina.  To advance in his Christian walk, he joined Antioch Masonic Lodge No. 91 of Varnville, South Carolina.

He was a 1962 graduate of the former North District Training School, Varnville, South Carolina.  Upon graduation, Bunchie, pursuing his dream of a productive and rewarding life, relocated to the state of Washington, DC.  His initial employment was with Carolina Market where he worked for three years.  Seeking advancement, he accepted a position with Giant Food Store of the Metropolitan area.  Later, he accepted a position with the Metropolitan Transit Authority from which he retired after twenty-three years of service.

Bunchie loved watching football.  His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was one brother, Ionious Dunbar; One brother-in-law, Donald Mozie; and two sisters-in-law: Doris Mozie and Virie Dunbar.

To mourn his homegoing yet cherish fond memories are:  His wife,  Marva Lavonne Dunbar; three sons: Tony Foster Dunbar and Tyrone Dunbar, both of Maryland and Kelvin Dunbar of Minnesota; ten grandchildren: Eugene A. Foster, II, Chante Calder, Eugenia Foster, Antoine Hammond, Kiaoliver Jheri Oliver, and Ronald Britt, all of Maryland, Katte-lyn Dunbar, Kelvin L. Dunbar, Jr., Keon J. Dunbar, and Kynvyll L. Dunbar, all of Minnesota; twelve great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Robert Mozie, Jr. of DC; three sisters-in-law: Barbara Mozie of DC, Sandra Kosh (Ronald) and Janice Woods (Harrison), all of Maryland; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
