Mother Liza Thompson, the daughter of the late Jake and Daisy O’Banner, was born August 15, 1923 in Luray, SC.  Liza passed from labor to reward on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones at the blessed age of 96.  

Liza was joined in holy matrimony to the late William Thompson, Sr. Her oldest son, William “Buck” Thompson, Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Marvile Thompson, preceded her in death. 

At an early age, she joined and was baptized at Rockspring Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC. Later, she became a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Cummings, SC.  She was a faithful member and held many positions including: Usher, Food Server, Choir Member, and then took the role of Mother of Jerusalem.  

She leaves to cherish the following love ones: four (4) children: Annie Butler (James), Emmanuel Thompson, Timothy Thompson (Laverne), and Queen Thompson, all of Cummings, SC; one (1) daughter-in-law, Senovia Thompson; two (2) sisters: Margaret Lawrence, St. Augustine, FL and Ethabelle Doctor, Greenville, SC; twenty-four (24) grandchildren, thirty-one (31) great grandchildren, four (4) great-great grandchildren; and two (2) nieces that were reared in the home: Elaine Riley and Jeanette Grant both of Newark, NJ. A host of many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and sympathizing friends.    

Always kind, helpful, and nurturing, Liza was also a wonderful wife, exceptional mother, phenomenal grandmother, and an overall loving person that enjoyed spending time with her family.
