Jane Elizabeth "Sugar" Dunston peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on May 11, 2019, at the age of ninety-five.  She resided in Mount Vernon, New York for many years.  Jane was the daughter of the late Columbus Davis and the late Iva Bostic Davis.  She was born in Hampton County, South Carolina on October 30, 1923, the youngest of her siblings.

Her parents were blessed and raised seven children: three sons and four daughters.

Jane accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  Her church roots began at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Hampton, South Carolina for over sixty years, thereafter moving to Mount Vernon, New York. She had a deep love for God!

Later on, she met and married James Lee Dunston, who pre-deceased her.  In this union were born two children.  She is also preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings: Lloyd Davis, Aaron Davis, Wilmon Davis, Beulah Davis-Riley, Meddie Davis-Fitch, and Pastor Annie Davis-Black.

Jane worked for over twenty-five years at Engelhard Industries located in Carteret, New Jersey.  Her work ethic was superb.  She rose to the position of division leader in the company.  After retirement, Jane enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She especially found pleasure in traveling with the Macedonia Baptist Church Family to destinations including Hawaii, the Caribbean, Argentina, Brazil, Israel, and Australia.

She is survived by her daughter, Harriet Dunston-Johnson (Lynn); a son, Mark James Dunston; her grandchildren: Elizabeth Johnson and Lynn Joseph Johnson; Aunts: Pastor Beatrice Bostic and Mary Dennis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
